What happens during an acupuncture treatment?

Very thin, sterile, one-time use needles are inserted in specific areas to regulate how the body functions. Gentle physiological responses occur, including the release of endorphins, a natural chemical which reduces pain and enhances a sense of well-being and relaxation. The result is a healthier circulation of vital energy which allows the body to re-balance itself. Non-needle techniques are also used.

Is acupuncture painful?

Contrary to what most people think, acupuncture needles are very thin and treatment is considered quite comfortable.
